May 2013 - What's Happening at Orlando Office Business Centers
------------------------------------------------------------
Seems that we are well on our way to summer here in Orlando and if you can believe it, Hurricane Season is just around the corner. Now is the perfect time to make sure that you are prepared for mother nature on all accounts. Some things to consider:
* Is your insurance, both renters and liability up to date and in place? It will not do you any good after the fact. If you need a quote for your liability insurance please let me know. I have been quoted reasonable rates starting at $250 for the year.
* Do you have battery back-ups or power surge strips on all your equipment?
* Are you backing up your computers on a regular basis? A service like Carbonite provides reliable, off-site, backup and once it is installed you don't have to think about it.
* Create a list of important things you would need from your office should you not be able to get there for a few days.
* Consider what items you need to protect from the elements and how you will do so.
* Make sure that you have contact information, on hand, for employees in case you need to reach them during an emergency.
* Take a quick video inventory of your office and keep it with your insurance policies. This will help to aid in any claims.

Did you know that in order to get found in the Google local search results you must have a commercial address? If your business uses a P.O. Box or a home address you will never fall into their "Local Pack" of results. If you know someone starting a business, using a P.O. Box, or working from home, refer them to us. We can help them get a physical business presence with our Virtual Office services. Ask them to mention your name for a referral perk! 407-677-3149

Meet Doug Powell- Our Own In-House Artist
Mix of Random Puzzle Pieces Mix of Random Puzzle Pieces Recycled Computer Keys
Mosaic artist Doug Powell creates one-of-a-kind, contemporary mosaics for gallery, architectural, community and home settings. His art is exhibited nationally and internationally and represented in private, public and corporate collections. Doug’s mosaics are created using random jigsaw puzzle pieces and cast off computer keys from computer keyboards.
Doug’s first contact with mosaics was in early 2003 when memories from his childhood fascination with “Spin Art” resurfaced. He built a home-made spin art machine capable of spinning large canvases up to 48” x 48”. Glued on puzzle pieces, chunks of wood and other interesting objects served as a deflection when acrylic and house paint were systematically dropped on the spinning canvas.
This set the platform for experimentation with house hold materials being used to create unusual art mosaics especially the common jigsaw puzzle. Spending an afternoon assembling a puzzle was never Doug’s cup of tea. “Taking many boxes of random puzzles, mixing them together and then creating something completely new and different was clearly the logical thing to do”, Says Doug.
The trial and error in configuring those puzzle pieces finally evolved into large detailed portraits of iconic personalities such as Lucille Ball, Elizabeth Taylor and George Washington.
Incorporating the use of recycled Cast-Off Computer keys from computer keyboards is the latest material Doug is using to create dramatic portraits including Abe Lincoln, John F Kennedy and Frankenstein.
Select portraits from Doug’s collection of Jigsaw Puzzle Art Mosaics and Computer Key portraits are on exhibit in Ripley’s “Believe It Or Not!” museums from Times Square, New York City to Hollywood, California.
Doug was just featured on FOX 35 NEWS ORLANDO Morning Show April 2, 2013 and was interviewed live by News Anchor David Martin between News, Traffic and Weather.
